Is the translucent paper cover wrapped around the MD Notebook meant to be left on while using it?
When opening the notebook, the exterior is wrapped in thin paper instead of a thick hardcover, making it difficult to tell whether it is disposable packaging or a cover meant to be kept on.
The glassine paper included as a standard component is a cover meant to be kept on while in use, and covers designed to prevent dirt and grime are offered separately.
On the outside, it is just a sheet of crisp paper, but the notebook inside is the thread-stitched body itself without a thick outer cover[1].
It is not disposable packaging. In the product components outlined by MD PAPER PRODUCTS, a glassine paper cover is specified alongside the 176-page main notebook, bookmark ribbon, and index stickers[2]. Much like the translucent greaseproof paper that used to wrap the outside of old books, it is a basic protective layer wrapped around the thread-stitched spine and cover to lightly shield them from scratches.
It is lightweight. When held in your hand, the innate texture of the paper is felt directly, but due to the nature of the thin paper material, it is difficult to completely block moisture or everyday smudges from hands. If you are concerned about the notebook wearing down or getting stained, there is another option. The brand separately offers and sells dedicated covers designed to protect the notebook from dirt[3].
hmmm, it leaves the raw texture of the material to be felt through a single thin layer of paper, while leaving an outer layer to block dirt as something the user can add on according to their needs.
We have not yet confirmed what material the separately sold stain-prevention covers are made of.
