It can be placed on both direct heat and induction, but can I boil soup or stew like a regular pot?

It does not discriminate between heat sources, but it strictly restricts what is put in it to boil. Kajidonya's small basket can be used across gas stoves and radiant cooktops (direct fire), as well as induction and dishwashers^[1]. However, using it for cooking purposes when heating over fire is not recommended, and its use over fire is restricted solely to boiling water^[2].

There are round measurement markings on the inside. Looking inside, 1L and 2L guide lines are marked in circular shapes to easily gauge the amount of water^[3]. These are guidelines that help gauge the amount of water needed for sterilizing or blanching, rather than measuring seasoning ratios. Although Kajidonya has not disclosed the specific reason for restricting heating for cooking, unlike dedicated cooking pots with reinforced thick bottoms, boiling broth with viscosity or seasoning in a thin single-layer metal container can easily cause the bottom to scorch or burn.

hmmm, rather than replacing a pot just because it is made of heat-resistant material, it fulfills its proper role when approached as a neat housekeeping tool for boiling water vigorously to sterilize tableware and lightly blanch vegetables.
