Can I twist and wring out the flannel filter firmly by hand after washing it?
When rinsing the filter with water after brewing coffee, you may wonder about the proper care method and whether it is okay to wring it out tightly by hand like a regular cloth to remove excess moisture.
You should not wring Azmaya's flannel filter; instead, place it between clean, dry cloths and pat it to remove moisture.
Do not twist or wring it by hand; place it between clean, dry cloths and pat it lightly[1]. This is because wringing a wet filter hard like a dishcloth places excessive strain on the fibers.
The basic material of the filter is cotton[2]. In general, cotton flannel fabric has a soft nap on the surface and fine gaps between the threads. If you twist it with strong force, the grain of these fibers may distort or the fabric may stretch, causing the gaps that filter coffee grounds to become irregular.
Dry it by patting. If you neatly spread and cover the filter with a clean, dry cloth and tap it gently with your palm, only the remaining moisture is cleanly absorbed into the cloth without disturbing the fiber structure[3].

It has not yet been confirmed whether the filter, once moisture is removed, should be submerged in water and refrigerated, or stored dry.
