Are the weld marks and soot remaining on the bottom of the stainless steel frame defective?

When looking at the lower part of a table or chair, you may sometimes see dark marks or polishing traces at the pipe joints. It is difficult to determine whether these are processing defects or a normal product.

hmmm editorial answer

These are natural traces left during the crafting process of joining and finishing iron by hand, and are neither flaws nor defects.

When you turn furniture over or look underneath it, there are areas that stand out in particular. These are the corners where the pipes interlock and the joints at the bottom of the frame.

TXTR's CT3 coffee table and chair lines are made by directly welding and polishing stainless steel pipes by hand[1][2]. Because high heat must be applied to join hard metal, dark heat soot inevitably spreads around the joints. In the grinding process of smoothing protruding welded areas evenly, fine friction marks and scratches are also left on the surface.

This is not a product defect. The brand informs that weld marks and grinding traces on the lower part of the frame, as well as fine gaps and soot at the pipe joints, are natural characteristics arising from the material and the handmade process[3]. Even though the visible outer surfaces are neatly finished, the bottom part that firmly supports the structure inevitably retains the touch of craftsmanship from melting and joining iron.
