Can I put food in the Round Deep Plate and heat it in the microwave?

The material of the Toyo Sasaki Round Deep Plate is soda-lime glass called Fine Clear^[1]. Soda-lime glass is widely used in everyday tableware, so it is transparent and hard, but its properties differ from heat-resistant glass that withstands rapid temperature changes.

Heated cooking should be avoided. It cannot be used on any heat sources, from microwaves and ovens to induction cooktops and direct-fire appliances such as gas stoves or radiant cooktops^[2]. While it is sufficient as a dish for serving warm food, it is not suitable for placing the dish itself over a flame or heat to cook or reheat food.

When washing, you can use a dishwasher, making care easy^[3]. However, if the glass is wrapped with a wet dishcloth or placed in a cold location while hot, there is a risk of breakage due to rapid temperature differences^[4]. After holding hot food or immediately after using a dishwasher, it is necessary to let it cool down slowly at room temperature so that it does not come into direct contact with cold water.
