RECTORE-77

Why does the strap buckle sandal use different leathers for the outer surface and the inside?

After seeing in the product description that the outer upper is cowhide and the lining is lambskin, I asked to find out how the roles of the leathers used on the outside and inside differ.

hmmm editorial answer

RECTO's strap buckle sandal uses cowhide for the outer upper and lambskin for the inner lining that touches the foot.

The outside is cowhide and the inside is lambskin[1][2]. RECTO's Strapy Buckle Sandal (Black) uses 100% cowhide for the outer upper, and is lined with 100% lambskin on the inner lining that wraps the foot[3][4].

Generally, in shoemaking, cowhide has a dense texture and is tough, playing the role of supporting the shoe so its shape does not easily collapse when walking. On the other hand, lambskin is flexible and soft to the touch among leathers, characterized by reducing friction irritation even when in contact with bare feet.

hmmm, this means the properties of the two leathers are used separately so that the sandal's shape is held firmly on the outside while providing a soft feel where it touches the foot.
