Can the mini saucepan be placed directly on a gas stove or induction cooktop to boil sauce?

Because "saucepan" is in the name, it is easy to think of it as a small pot for warming butter or sauce. This question seeks to confirm usable heat sources to see if it can actually be cooked in over heat.

[Ottinetti] Mini Saucepan BLU VINTAGE (3size)

[Ottinetti] Mini Saucepan ROSSO NATALE (3size)

hmmm editorial answer

Although "saucepan" is in the name, it cannot be placed on any heating appliances, including direct flame and induction, so it should be used as serving tableware rather than for cooking.

Although "pan," meaning a pot, is attached to its name, this vessel belongs on the dining table, not on a gas stove. It cannot be heated. Both the BLU VINTAGE and ROSSO NATALE options chosen from the mini saucepans by Ottinetti cannot be heated on direct flames like gas stoves or highlight cooktops, nor on induction cooktops, ovens, or microwaves^[1]^[2]. They also cannot be put in a dishwasher^[3]^[4].

The capacities are also only 50ml, 60ml, and 70ml^[5]. Because it is a size that holds only about a single cup of espresso worth of liquid, it is not suitable for cooking purposes where ingredients are boiled over a flame.

Ultimately, when choosing this item, you should look at it not as a pot used over heat, but as a sauce bowl accompanying the dining table. Instead of heating sauce over a flame, it is suitable when used as serving ware to present finished dressings, syrups, or oils on the dining table. hmmm, it is closer to a plating prop that adds to the table setting by mimicking the shape of cookware in miniature.
