Why should the charcoal tray not be washed with water after using the mini water grill?
After grilling meat outdoors, it is easy to come across warning notices while trying to wash all grill parts with water at once like other tableware. One wonders why washing with water is prohibited exclusively for the charcoal tray among the set parts, and what the correct cleanup method is.
The mini water grill set is divided into four parts, but the charcoal tray that directly holds the fire must not be washed with water, but rather dusted off and stored dry.
When packing up a grill outdoors, the first place your hands reach is the inside of the firebox where the charcoal was burning. The mini water grill from Igamono consists of four parts: the main body, charcoal tray, grill grate, and base[1]. Even if you wash the grease-splattered grill grate or main body with water after a meal, the tray that held the charcoal must not be washed with water[2].
Do not put it in water. Ceramic parts that directly support charcoal have microscopic pores that absorb moisture easily, and if they come into contact with fire again while holding moisture, they are prone to cracking from the inside out and breaking. Sudden temperature differences that occur when cold water touches it while it has not yet fully cooled down are also a cause of breakage.
Therefore, after the fire is completely extinguished and the residual heat has cooled, simply dusting out the remaining ash is sufficient. Soot on the outer surface should be lightly dusted off with a dry brush or a dry cloth, and storing it in a place free from moisture will allow you to use the grill for a long time.

It has not yet been confirmed whether there is a separately recommended maintenance tool to scrape off oil or food residue if it becomes caked onto the charcoal tray surface.
