The beige coating on the inside of the stalker lid is slightly peeled off; is it defective?

In the metal handle stalker presented by ADERIA, the glassware line of Ishizuka Glass, the light off-white coating on the inside may appear peeled off when you first open the lid^[3]. Unlike the neat metallic texture on the outside, traces where the coating is sparsely applied or torn off along the inner rim and curved surfaces catch the eye first.

The base material of this lid is tinplate, which is made by layering beige acrylic resin and white polyvinyl chloride over it^[4]. In the forming process of pressing and bending a flat tinplate sheet into a round lid shape, the overlaid coating layer is prone to finely coming off where the metal strongly engages. Since this is a phenomenon that occurs naturally during the manufacturing process, it is not classified as a product defect^[5].

However, when using it in daily life, care must be taken regarding moisture management. Tinplate is a material made by plating the surface of a thin iron sheet with tin, so rust can form if moisture seeps into the cracks where the coating has peeled off. After washing dishes, completely wiping off any moisture gathered on the inside of the lid with a dry cloth and drying it completely will help maintain its clean condition for a long time.
