hmmm Terms of Use
v1.2 · Effective 2026-10-07
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms set forth the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of the Operator and Users necessary for using the hmmm service (hmmm.pub, hereinafter referred to as the "Service"), operated as an individual research project by Lee Chang-woo (hereinafter referred to as the "Operator").
Article 2 (Definitions)
- "Service" refers to all posts and conversations that answer questions regarding products based on facts confirmed from materials released by brands, as well as all screens accompanying them.
- "User" refers to any person who uses the Service, and "Member" refers to a User who has created an account.
- "Account" refers to a Member's eligibility to use the Service, identified by an email address. Accounts created by logging in with a Google account or a DotSlashDash account are also accounts.
- "Content" refers to all materials posted on the Service, such as questions, answers, basis indications, product information, and images.
- "Brand Materials" refers to materials that serve as the basis for Content, such as product information, introductions, and interviews released by brands or sellers.
Article 3 (Posting and Revision of the Terms)
- The Operator shall make these Terms available at all times on the login screen and introduction screen of the Service.
- The Operator may amend the Terms to the extent that relevant laws are not violated. When amending, an announcement will be made within the Service starting 7 days prior to the effective date. Amendments that are disadvantageous to Users or significant will be announced starting 30 days prior, and will also be notified to Members via email.
- If a Member does not express an intention to refuse by the effective date, the Member shall be deemed to have agreed to the amended Terms. Members who do not agree may delete their account.
- Previous Terms shall be made available for viewing on this screen.
Article 4 (Content of the Service)
- The Service answers Users' questions with facts confirmed from Brand Materials. For each answer, the nature of the basis is indicated with a label, and matters that could not be confirmed are noted as unconfirmed.
- The Service is free of charge. The Operator does not sell products through the Service. Product purchases take place between the User and the brand on each brand's sales site.
- The Operator receives no compensation whatsoever, such as advertising fees or commissions, from brands or sellers. Product links within the Service lead directly to the product pages of brands or sellers.
- Reading is available without logging in. Some features, such as asking questions directly, are provided only to Members, and their scope is indicated within the Service.
Article 5 (Membership Registration)
- Only persons aged 14 or older may become Members.
- Membership registration is conducted with an email address and password, or with a Google account or DotSlashDash account. When registering via email, the account is activated only after completing the verification procedure sent by the Operator via email. DotSlashDash accounts are a separate service operated by Dot Slash Dash Co., Ltd., and registration and management of such accounts are governed by the terms of that service.
- Users must register with accurate information and must not use another person's email or information.
- The Operator may refuse registration or suspend an account in the following cases: misappropriation of another person's information, a history of prior use restrictions, automated registration, and other cases where there is a clear concern of interfering with the operation of the Service.
Article 6 (Management of Accounts)
- Responsibility for managing accounts and passwords lies with Members. Members may not lend or transfer accounts to others.
- Upon becoming aware that an account has been misappropriated, the Member must immediately change the password and notify the Operator.
- Members may change their email address and reset their password in My Page, and may delete their account at any time. When an account is deleted, personal information is deleted in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
Article 7 (Obligations of Users)
Users must not engage in the following acts:
- Sending bulk requests or scraping Content of the Service through automated methods
- Entering personal information of others or impersonating others
- Entering content that violates laws and regulations or public order and morals, or infringes upon the rights of others
- Testing, circumventing, or reverse engineering the security of the Service
- Using the Service for commercial purposes without the prior consent of the Operator
Article 8 (Questions and Usage Records)
- Questions entered by Members are transmitted to the AI service provider utilized by the Operator to formulate answers. The provider and processing methods are specified in the Privacy Policy.
- The Operator may use questions and usage records as materials to improve the quality of the Service and create new questions. In doing so, information that can identify Members is removed. The Operator does not display Members' conversations to other Users as they are.
- Rights to questions belong to Members, and Members grant permission for the Operator to use questions for the above purposes. This permission terminates when a Member deletes their account, except for what has been anonymized and processed up to that point.
Article 9 (Content and Intellectual Property)
- Rights to Content of the Service belong to the Operator. However, rights to Brand Materials cited in the Content belong to each brand or seller.
- Users may use Content within the scope of reading it personally and sharing links via sharing features. Any other reproduction, distribution, or modification requires the consent of the Operator.
- Search engines and AI services are permitted to cite Content provided that the source (the corresponding address on hmmm.pub) is indicated.
Article 10 (Accuracy and Correction of Information)
- The operator links sources to each statement of fact in the content and discloses what could not be verified. However, because brand materials may change or contain errors themselves, the operator does not guarantee that the content is always up to date or complete.
- A user who discovers an error in the content may report it through a correction request within the service or via email (hello@hmmm.co.kr). The operator will verify the basis, make corrections, and keep a record of the corrections.
- Purchase decisions must be made by the user after confirming the final information on the brand's sales site.
Article 11 (External Sites and Purchases)
- Product links within the service lead to the websites of brands or sellers. The use of those sites, purchase agreements, shipping, refunds, and personal information processing are governed by each site's terms and policies, and the operator is not a party to such agreements.
- The operator is not responsible for the content of external sites or transactions conducted on them. However, if the operator becomes aware of an obvious issue, it will respond by taking actions such as removing the link.
Article 12 (Changes to and Suspension of the Service)
- The operator may change the contents of the service or suspend part of it, and will provide advance notice of significant changes.
- The service may be temporarily suspended due to maintenance, failures, natural disasters, or other reasons, in which case notice will be provided, even if after the fact.
- When the operator terminates the service, it will provide notice 30 days in advance, and members' personal information will be deleted in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
Article 13 (Restriction of Use and Termination)
- If a user violates Article 7, the operator may apply restrictions in the order of warning, temporary suspension, and account deletion. If the violation is clear and material, this sequence may be bypassed.
- The operator will notify the member of the reason for the restriction, and the member may raise an objection by email.
- Members may terminate the contractual relationship under these Terms at any time by deleting their account on My Page.
Article 14 (Disclaimer of Liability)
- In connection with services provided free of charge, the operator is not liable for damages incurred by users unless there is intentional misconduct or gross negligence on the part of the operator.
- The operator is not liable for the results of judgments and purchases made by users based on the content.
- The operator does not intervene in and is not responsible for disputes between users or between users and brands.
Article 15 (Governing Law and Dispute Resolution)
- The laws of the Republic of Korea govern these Terms and the use of the service.
- If a dispute arises, the operator and the user shall first consult in good faith, and if no agreement is reached, a lawsuit may be filed with the competent court designated by the Civil Procedure Act.
Supplementary Provisions
- These Terms take effect on 2026-10-07.
