I've been seeing a lot of leather outerwear lately. Is there a light leather blouson that would be good to wear starting right now?

I picked five leather jumpers and blousons that are great to lightly throw on in this weather. There are Moia's leather jumper, RECTO's vintage effect and high-neck jumpers, and among's faux leather jumpers in black and brown, which are easy to wear without burden. The reason leather outerwear is seen so often these days is thanks to shedding that characteristic stiffness and refining silhouettes to wrap flexibly around the body.

The name blouson comes from the French word for an outer garment that tightens at the hem so it puffs out like a blouse. It originally started as workwear worn by French peasants and laborers, who fastened the waist of loose outer coats to keep wind out and prevent fabric edges from catching in rough workplaces. Practical work windbreakers evolved through pilot jumpers into today's sophisticated outerwear.

The list has an even mix, from soft lambskin to comfortable faux leather. Shall we narrow it down to natural lambskin only, or look closer at options under KRW 300,000, in black, or with high-neck designs?

↳ Natural lambskin only

I picked four outer garments made of natural lambskin from the list: Moia's leather jumper (black), and RECTO's VINTAGE EFFECT LEATHER JUMPER (RED BROWN) and HIGH-NECK LEATHER JUMPER (BLACK). Lambskin has a noticeably softer grain and is lighter than cowhide, so when you throw it on, the natural drape flowing along the shoulder line really comes alive.

Architect Le Corbusier always wore round glasses and a heavy black leather jacket as he traveled between work sites and his studio. It was workwear issued to French state-owned enterprise workers in the 1940s, and thanks to its bold collar and sturdy build, it later came to be called by his name altogether.

Leather outerwear has that special appeal of breaking in deep creases as you wear it every day like that. Shall we look at high-neck designs that wrap around the neck, or do you prefer vintage processing that gives an aged feel to the texture?

↳ With high-neck designs

For high-neck leather outerwear that neatly wraps around the neck, I picked two: Moia's leather jumper (black) and RECTO's HIGH-NECK LEATHER JUMPER (BLACK). When you pull the collar right up under your chin, the cool, crisp line distinctive to leather truly comes to life.

Aviator Amelia Earhart, the first woman to fly across the Atlantic, also loved wearing a high-neck leather flight suit to block the piercing wind in the cockpit. She was so fond of it that she slept in it for several nights so the newly bought leather wouldn't look too stiff, and in 1934 she even introduced a fashion line under her own name that brought the practicality of flight suits into everyday wear.

The silhouette of leather covering the neck creates a distinctive, resolute presence along with its function of blocking cold air. Between the two selected this time, would you like to set the budget under KRW 500,000, or explore the differences in zipper and sleeve details first?
