Can RECTO collections be seen through fashion shows?
Some readers hear news of a new collection every season but find it difficult to locate show videos or runway photos, leaving them unsure of where to look.
RECTO does not hold runway shows, and has instead presented its collections through campaign images and online releases each season.
There is no runway. Instead, campaign images take its place. This season, RECTO once again did not hold a show and presented the collection solely through campaign images[1]. The 2023 F/W was released through the official SNS account[2], and the 2024 S/S was also planned for an online release at the end of the year[3]. In effect, the place to view the collection is not audience seats, but a screen.
Who, then, creates those images? The 2025 S/S campaign was photographed by photographer Anthony Seklaoui, with Clément Chabernaud and Saskia de Brauw appearing as models[4]. There is one more detail added to this. The campaign B-cuts posted on the official Instagram were taken directly by Creative Director Jung Baek-seok, who majored in photography[5]. He has previously shared that among the various duties of a creative director, he holds the greatest affection for visual directing, such as season campaigns and lookbook shoots[6].
However, the brand's explanation regarding why it does not choose a runway has not yet been confirmed. hmmm, for a brand without shows, a campaign is not an auxiliary piece introducing a collection, but its sole stage. The setup where B-cuts are posted alongside main cuts is noteworthy for that reason — rather than an advertisement finalized in a single image, it is closer to showing a bit more of the shoot location.
The brand's explanation regarding the reason for choosing campaign images instead of runway shows has not yet been confirmed.
