Can I not pull on loose threads with my hand when threads unravel on a mosquito net dishcloth?

If you pull, the unraveling spreads; if you cut it with scissors, it stops. When threads on the dishcloth come loose, you must not pull on the thread, but only cut off the protruding part with scissors^[1].

This dishcloth is constructed by layering and sewing together five sheets of 100% cotton mosquito net fabric^[2][3]. Generally, mosquito net fabric is a plain weave fabric loosely woven with gaps between threads to quickly absorb water and allow good ventilation.

In a loose structure with ample spacing between threads, the moment you pull a single protruding strand, surrounding threads get dragged up one after another. Attempting to rip out the thread can distort the entire intact weave. If you only cut off the exposed thread flush with the surface using scissors, the layered fabrics hold each other in place so that threads will no longer unravel.
