They are from the same BARBAR line, but can both the noodle bowls and the soba cups be put in the dishwasher?

The noodle bowls can go in the dishwasher, but the soba cup cannot. Even within Maruhiro's BARBAR line, the appliance usage criteria differ clearly depending on the dish. Both the Iroha noodle bowl and the Aikoma low noodle bowl can be used in both the microwave and dishwasher^[1][2]. In contrast, the white pattern soba cup cannot be used in the dishwasher, and cannot be used in the oven, induction, or direct fire (gas/highlight) either^[3].

The specific manufacturing reason why dishwasher use is restricted only for the soba cup despite being in the same line has not been confirmed. Generally, on ceramics with delicate pigments layered on the surface or depending on the glaze characteristics, exterior patterns can be abraded due to high-temperature water, strong water pressure, and dishes colliding with each other. To completely preserve the unique pattern of the soba cup, it is safer to hand-wash with a soft sponge instead of using a dishwasher.
