I heard the founder stepped down; who makes the clothes now?

For readers who have followed the brand for a long time, the news that the designer has changed directly relates to whether the clothes will change. However, it is not even clear whether the successor is one person or multiple people.

hmmm editorial answer

Kim Seyeon leads the main collection and Kim Dasom leads the diffusion line Lc separately, heading their respective lines.

The position was not simply passed from one person to another. Founder Lee Myeongsin completely stepped down from the creative director position last year, and the next chapter became the responsibility of two people: Kim Seyeon and Kim Dasom[1]. Kim Seyeon directs the main collection LOW CLASSIC, and Kim Dasom directs the diffusion line Lc[2]. Recently, separate business teams were even organized for each line[3].

Looking only at the names, it may seem like an unfamiliar replacement, but neither of them came from the outside. Kim Seyeon and Kim Dasom each worked with Lee Myeongsin for more than 5 years, left the company at one point, and then returned[4]. In particular, Kim Dasom was key to the second line Locle, which started in 2012, and when she left the company, Locle also closed down[5].

A place has also opened where one can see firsthand what this system actually looks like. 'Seongsu 86', which opened last month, is LOW CLASSIC's third offline store and the first space presented under the new designer system[6].

hmmm, the structure dividing the brand into two lines seems closer to each line gaining its own pace rather than simply changing the person who makes the clothes.
