What is the meaning of the puppy face engraved on the welded part connecting the pot handle?

Koinu is a word meaning a young puppy. Official materials state two things regarding the puppy mark on this pot: the fact that the logo is engraved at the weld connecting the handle, and the meaning behind the name.

A puppy mark placed at the weld. At the welded area where the body and handle of the yukihira pot meet and are firmly fixed, this KOINU logo-shaped puppy face is incorporated as an accent point^[1].

It does not stop at simple decoration. KOINU - Homma Manufacturing created the name 'Koinujirushi' with the wish that customers would hold an affection for it, use it consistently, and nurture it, alongside a simple and functional design and the satisfaction felt when using it^[2].

hmmm, the puppy figure left at the seam of this sturdy, cool metal cooking tool feels like a warm request from KOINU to use it every day in the kitchen, get it seasoned by hand, and tame it.
