What kind of award is the 'Long Life Design Award' that often appears in descriptions?

If the Good Design Award is a system that evaluates the completeness of products newly released in that year, the Long Life Design Award is given to objects that have stood the test of long periods of time. Awarded by the Japan Good Design Award, this prize selects products that have been continuously produced for more than ten years after their release, widely used in daily life, and recognized as standards of living. Instead of immediate trends or external splendor, it evaluates the sustainability of being able to keep and use something by one's side unchanged even as time passes.

HAKUSAN is a brand that has won the Long Life Design Award multiple times in addition to the Good Design Award^[1][2]. The widely known G-type Soy Sauce Bottle has also won the Good Design Award^[3]. The most fundamental starting point for HAKUSAN when crafting tableware is that it is comfortable to use and naturally blends into daily life^[4][5]. Because of its aim to remain as a standard always in use beyond eras, it aligns with the meaning of the award given to products that are loved without being discontinued over many years^[6][7].

hmmm, in that it is an award given to objects that quietly safeguard daily life for over ten years away from the competition of new products pouring out every year, it allows one to gauge where the standard spoken of by HAKUSAN lies.
